The Department of Information Security Technology at Yeditepe University aims to educate the cybersecurity experts of the future: individuals who wish to take part in answering this question and who seek not merely to use technology, but to make it more secure.
Our English-medium undergraduate program combines the strong theoretical foundations of computer science with contemporary cybersecurity technologies. Our comprehensive curriculum extends from cryptology to network and system security, from ethical hacking to penetration testing, and from artificial intelligence to cloud computing security. Through it, we aim to equip our students with the skills to analyze cyber threats, identify security vulnerabilities, assess risks, and develop innovative security solutions.
We view cybersecurity not merely as building defenses against threats, but as designing the future of secure digital systems. With this understanding, we integrate theoretical knowledge with hands-on practice. We place particular emphasis on helping our students develop their competencies in analytical thinking, problem-solving, critical evaluation, and continuous learning. By combining technological expertise with ethical responsibility and an interdisciplinary perspective, we address the technical, human, and societal dimensions of security together.
During their four-year undergraduate education, our students gain academic knowledge and practical skills. Should they choose to, they also have the opportunity to obtain internationally recognized cybersecurity certifications. This allows them to document their professional competencies before graduation and to enter the professional world better equipped to meet its expectations.
Our department provides students with a strong academic foundation for building careers in areas such as cybersecurity analysis, network and system security, security testing, digital forensics, and information security management. We aim for our graduates to adapt to evolving technological needs at both the national and international levels, to produce innovative solutions, and to help shape developments in their field.
