Management Information Systems is a department that brings information management, technology and people together. Developments in technology and informatics pave the way for new understandings in management to emerge. In this regard, managers need accurate information in order to make and apply the best decisions. The Department of Management Information Systems aims to educate people who are able to categorize and interpret information, who follow the breakthroughs in management and informatics and who are professional and highly qualified.
In order to enroll into the Department of Management Information Systems, the student should be a graduate of the equally-weighted (EA) educational program of high-schools. After a comprehensive education in the field of Management Information Systems, it is possible to work as a Management Information Systems Specialist in a wide array of industries. Graduates can find jobs in a variety of departments and positions, such as becoming a network administrator, software developer, web design expert, or in different areas of information technology. Also, thanks to their education, our departments are able to find administrative positions such as project management and project coordinatorship. Some of the fields in which a graduate of Management Information Systems can find a job include mobile systems, cloud systems, e-trading systems, decision support systems, virtual reality technology areas, banking, accounting and insurance.

Studying Management Information Systems at Yeditepe University
The Department of Management Information Systems aims to educate professionals who are able to realize the planning and management of all systems for the processes of producing, sharing and accessing information. Within the department, where an interdisciplinary education is provided, students are educated in the fields of informatics, technology and management.
In accordance with these goals, new developments in technology in order to create new information, which also names the era that we live in, are constantly monitored and students are educated in light of them. The students of the Management Information Systems Department are turned into specialists who can design and develop information systems, interpret the technological developments by following them closely, provide hardware and software support to their companies, as well as being equipped with excellent management capabilities.
Yeditepe University provides a handful of opportunities and sources for the students of the Management Information Systems Department. Courses designed in collaboration with leading companies such as Oracle, SAP, Cisco and Microsoft, as well as the certification programs of these companies help students both during their education in terms of knowledge and experience, and during their job search after their graduation. In this regard, graduates of the Management Information Systems Department are employed by large corporations, institutions and public offices.
The qualities of Management Information Systems Department graduates include capabilities such as following the information technologies closely, creating strategies by interpreting them, accurately managing and using the time and sources of companies, predicting the potential problems and providing solutions, enabling the communication between the managers and IT staff of the company and having visionary ideas in the field of business administration. In accordance with these qualities and knowledge, Management Information System Experts are responsible for developing the correct strategies in the process of making a profit, as well as making the right decisions.

The projection of the U.S. Labor Department for information technologies employment was 1.5 million people in the period between 2006-2016. Various corporations in the information technologies industry constantly increase their search for web designers, project managers, business analysts, software consultants and application developers.
