About Department

Management Information Systems is a department that brings information management, technology and people together. Developments in technology and informatics pave the way for new understandings in management to emerge. In this regard, managers need accurate information in order to make and apply the best decisions. The Department of Management Information Systems aims to educate people who are able to categorize and interpret information, who follow the breakthroughs in management and informatics and who are professional and highly qualified.

In order to enroll into the Department of Management Information Systems, the student should be a graduate of the equally-weighted (EA) educational program of high-schools. After a comprehensive education in the field of Management Information Systems, it is possible to work as a Management Information Systems Specialist in a wide array of industries. Graduates can find jobs in a variety of departments and positions, such as becoming a network administrator, software developer, web design expert, or in different areas of information technology. Also, thanks to their education, our departments are able to find administrative positions such as project management and project coordinatorship. Some of the fields in which a graduate of Management Information Systems can find a job include mobile systems, cloud systems, e-trading systems, decision support systems, virtual reality technology areas, banking, accounting and insurance. 

Our Mission and Vision

The aim of the Department of Management Information Systems is to educate adult and versatile management candidates who have a good command of contemporary informatics applications and are familiar with innovations such as electronic commerce, supply chain, decision support applications, expert systems. The department provides its students with an interdisciplinary education in the fields of informatics and management. It is aimed to train people who will take part in the analysis, design and implementation of information technologies, information technologies and systems and who have career plans in these fields.

As the Department of Management Information Systems, our vision is to be a department that trains high level practitioners who have a broad and high level of knowledge and practice in management and computer science in order to develop software that can respond to the needs arising from innovations in computer technology, and who can adapt existing programmes to the needs of the business and sector in which they are applied.The main aim of the undergraduate programme is to train expert staff who can design the most appropriate information systems in line with the strategic objectives of the enterprises after analysing and determining their needs, who can lead the development if necessary, and who will provide communication between business and informaticians.
